What To Wear For School Pictures

Ahhhh yes, the ever present question: “What is my kid going to wear!!!” And trust me, I get it. The night before you have the cutest outfit laid out and all they want to wear is last year’s halloween costume. *heavy sigh*

I want this part to induce as little stress as possible! The goal is plain & comfy!!!!

With giant graphics or neon colors, the focus draws away from your child’s adorable face and straight to their highlighter yellow “just do it” t-shirt.

Instead, focus on neutral colors that compliment your child’s complexion. Do they have really blue eyes? Throw ‘em in a blue t-shirt or dress to make those eyes pop!

Majority of my photos are from the neck up, so the most important thing is the top. The pants can be pj pants if that is the battle you aren’t willing to fight for the day :)

We also realllly want your kiddo to be comfortable. So, if they really hate shirts with buttons and collars, do not put them in that. Even though they look unbelievably handsome. They will be fidgeting and unhappy and that is not a photo you or I want!

This is also your reminder to not give them that trial haircut the night before photos. Give yourself some buffer time if it all goes horribly wrong!

The hairstyles can stay nice and simple—we want hair out of the eyes and face. Only things that enhance the cuteness of your little one!!

I have included some example photos below so you can get an idea! The backdrops will be either black or beige, nothing fancy or distracting that you have to worry about coordinating with!
